In Taoist and yogic philosophy, the Heart is considered the great empress and empty center that holds all things. It is essential due to its role in circulating blood and housing the “Shen” or “spirit.”

Through postures that open the shoulders and lungs and kindness meditation, we free the flow of blood and prana into the heart centre, helping us embody tranquillity and ease. During class, we begin with therapeutic somatic movements on the floor designed to create structural integration and somatic awareness. From there, we slowly move to active poses through intelligent and deliberate sequencing, then breath work and finish with heart-centred meditation.

This immersion is open to all levels.

Class is two hours and includes a talk and practice session.

Jennifer Raye holds a doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a licensed practitioner, acupuncturist, and herbalist. She is a long-time yoga and meditation teacher, holistic nutritionist, and published author specializing in somatic and therapeutic movement.

With nearly two decades of experience in integrative medicine, yoga, and mindfulness, Jennifer has worked with thousands of students and patients all over the world through her classes, retreats, teacher training and private medical practice. Her offerings are a rich synthesis of in-depth and long-term studies of anatomy, bodywork, therapeutic movement, Buddhist contemplative practices, Chinese Medicine, and Ayurveda.
