In five-element theory, spring is the time of the Wood element, the Liver and Gallbladder, and the nourishing power of our blood. Springtime energy signifies possibility, renewal, greater creativity and movement, but when these subtle energies become blocked or congested in our bodies and minds, we experience pain, tension, fatigue or frustration.
Practices and remedies that unwind stagnation and support a kind of “detox” help blood and subtle fluids “soak” into the tissues, leading to the revitalization of the physical and energy bodies. Like a spring “tonic”, they support us in finding harmony this time of year.
Join us for this workshop, which includes a short talk and an extended movement and meditation practice. We’ll explore gentle therapeutic movements, yoga postures, meditation techniques and some daily habits that lead to a sense of renewal and energy for spring!
This workshop is suitable for all bodies and levels of experience.
This Workshop Includes:
- An extended movement and meditation workshop (workshop is 2 hours and includes a talk and practice session)
- Supplementary pre-recorded lessons
- A downloadable workbook
Please note that this class was originally recorded as a live online class over Zoom. It has been lightly edited to ensure smooth and efficient viewing as a replay.
